2007 is finally over, and all of Pakistan took a sigh of relief as 2008 made its arrival under the shadows of sorrow and uncertainty. With elections now more than a month away, and the battle lines clearly drawn, Pakistanis now not only have to deal with the tragic and shrouded-in-controversy loss of a national leader, but they also have to be prepared for the upheaval that is sure to come following Election Day. If the PPP wins the elections, which many predict it will, will the future PPP Prime Minister be willing to take an oath administered by President Musharraf? Will the nation now have to watch history repeat itself, as Prime Ministers battle Presidents openly, as they have done since 1985?
